Redesigning Iconic Brands for the Modern Consumer with P&G
OVERVIEW
In Fall 2024, Yale and a team of students pitched to more than a hundred P&G employees as to why they should work with the NEXT Innovation Scholars. This is what came out of that pitch. Not just one project, but three back to back sprints redesigning some of P&G's most iconic products: Pantene, DAWN Powerwash, and Bounce Dryer Sheets. Together, the team conducted user interviews, landscape research, and field observations to then design a brand new look for all three products.
1 Semester. 3 Iconic Products. 100+ User Interviews.

Pantene
To begin the project, the team was tasked with imagining how Pantene's specialty Keratin product could be redesigned to help it stand out on the pages of Amazon.

Did you know you shouldn't use water with Powerwash? Neither did we! The largest portion of the project was devoted to helping consumers better understand the correct way to use DAWN Powerwash and how it is different than normal soap.

The final sprint was dedicated to redesigning the front of pack for Bounce Dryer Sheets. This time the team mixed it up, creating an experiential workshop instead of a typical presentation.
